Hello everyone. It’s been a while.
September was a long month consisting of burn out from work, general distaste for LA, heat, regret, eating disorder poop....and literal deification. (but we all know the months are full of that don't we.)
I took 2 weeks off and took a road trip to Yosemite and Kings Canyon national parks. (with Sean. Sean Malony. He's a pretty neato animator dude. Also a robot maybe. not sure.)
This resulted in an adventure.
There was dark sky where we could actually see stars and not much of ourselves. It was like glitter explosion everywhere.
And fresh air.
And attempting to eat meat amongst yellow jackets of doom. And later that evening proceeding to freeze our bums off because LA has taught us to be wimps. And we get cold easy.
Did I mention there were really.....really rather big trees.
And a lake where we found the bodies of petrified giants and also goblins.
oh yeah and trees.
This was something rather new.
The world is sometimes better explored with someone other then yourself. I think.
It's one thing to go on a trip alone. To allow oneself to reflect and create a sense of independence. I enjoy those trips. And I recommend doing them.
But to go with another person allows the both of you to create stories that you can share.
Also it's someone to bounce impressions of the universe off of.
I think we can agree that we all are sadly stuck in our own perception of reality. At least I am. It can get a bit self serving.
Also you have someone to react with, like Oh cool a cool thing. look at the thing. Oh cool a thing WE BOTH SEE THE THING! LET US CELEBRATE THIS DISCOVERY.
And also that person makes sure that you don't die. This is a plus. Sean did this a lot. I am forever greatful. I tend to forget that I bleed.
But. You know I really would rather not die.
Look a giant tree.
Relationships. Strong ones. Maintain that and you "in the self help book theory" feel whole.
This is one of the handful of ingredients to maintain happiness.
I read this in a book. I think it was a good book. Perhaps I am doing life right.
Too be honest I really don't know anything. I'm following Socrates.
And this is something I'm proud of. I do not feel down at the thought that I don't know anything.
But yeah give that a try if you are a loaner. You may be surprised on how you feel.
P.S. I have learned that saying poop when half asleep repeatedly at 6 am to your boyfriend is probably the best choice of conversation I have ever made. It keeps him guessing. This is how flirting should work.
